Bangalore University has completed forty-one years of fruitful existence and has come to be acclaimed as one of the largest universities in Asia. Although originally intended to be a federal university, has emerged as a possible affiliation of the University. The University has been accredited by NAAC in 2001 and has received five star status. Academically, the university is structured into six faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce and Administration, Education, Law and Engineering. Offers 41 graduate departments, One post-graduate Kolar Center, (since 1994-95), three constituent college, 473 affiliated colleges (of which 88 have PG courses) and several other centers and directorates of education top and researching their competition. Currently the University offers 51 postgraduate courses.
