In 1952, a certificate of review of all India Conference was held under the chairmanship of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Minister of Education. The main aim of the conference was to consider replacing the Cambridge school abroad for a Certificate of Consideration The consideration of all of India. This set the agenda for the creation of the Council.

In October 1956 a meeting of the Inter-State Board for Anglo-Indian Education a proposal was approved by the creation of an Indian Council of Management, University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate examination in India and to advise the Union in the best way to adapt its consideration to the needs of the country. The inaugural meeting was held on November 3, 1958.In December 1967, the Council was registered as a society under the Societies Registration Act 1860.

In 1973, the Council are listed in the Education Law School, 1973 New Delhi, as a body responsible for "public" examinations.

Vidyasagar University, the name of one of the most illustrious sons of Bengal, as well as a dean of India Renaissance, Pandit Chandra Vidyasagar Isvara has emerged from a movement to cultural and educational activities throughout West Bengal in general and undivided Midnapore district in particular. The idea of founding a university in the district was raised by the various organizations, in particular the Regional Association of Education, Midnapore, led by Professor AKGayen of IIT, Kharagpur. The Committee appointed by the UGC Ghani also proposed, among others, to create a university in Midnapore on the ground of his "with a compact surface and a manageable number of schools" (at that time there were 36 schools with an enrollment of about 42,000), and also of its "have the great advantage of the cooperation of the IIT, Kharagpur. The Committee also believes that the new university that develop on the lines tailored to the needs of this area back.

Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOs) began in 1974, but after 1996, when the University (nehu) who left the University Orientation Course, which was taken by the Board, since then, all financial matters related to SSLC and HSSLC branch were being treated by the Board. Due to the increasing number of students per year, the workload also increases. After 1996, the Board is responsible for all academic matters related to curriculum development for all classes, including SSLC and HSSLC.

1968 - Mr. TR Pachamuthu, Chancellor, SRM University, began his quest to provide a first class education through the establishment of a school - "Florence Nightingale Elementary School '- in Chennai in 1968. In the same year, Valliammai Society in honor of her mother, Mrs. R. Valliammai, was founded.

1985 - The "SRM College of Engineering was established in Kattankulathur, near Chennai, and soon became SRM numerous learning centers.

2002 - The "SRM School of Dentistry" was granted university status, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Development, India.In the same year, the engineering, medical and paramedical schools group met under the scope of SRM deemed university.

2003-04 - The other schools follow suit.

2006 - The University considers then attained the status of a university as of right, under Article 3 of the UGC Act 1956. An updated curriculum and international teaching methods, developed by the International Advisory Board SRM (IAB) launched the SRM University is ahead of the rest.
